In a nutshell, there are 4 steps to bring home your Taylor Aussie:
Read the CONTRACT & FAQ sections to learn more about us, our Aussies & the puppies to make sure we can provide what you are looking for in your ideal Aussie before you apply. I have dedicated hours writing down everything I can think to be as transparent as we can be.
When you’re ready to take the next step, we’d love for you to apply to JOIN THE WAITLIST or RESERVE AVAILABLE PUPPY. You’re still under no obligation, this just helps us get to know you & understand what you’re looking for in your ideal Puppy, but also to make ensure Taylor Aussies is a good match for your lifestyle & can fit into your home as seamlessly as possible.
Once you’re approved & ready to place a hold on your chosen Puppy or the next Pick# on the Waitlist, pay your $400 REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT. The deposit is refundable until your application is approved & we confirm that your preferred Puppy is available.
Once you choose your Puppy, your Deposit becomes non-refundable because it’s applied to the puppy’s total price. We will mark your Pup “RESERVED” & you can schedule your preferred date/time to schedule Gotcha Day. This is also when you will sign your official Puppy Contract.
then the hardest part…. the wait for Gotcha Day! We strive to send updates weekly at a minimum. Puppy Pickup will take place at Aussies Aussies in South Hill, VA once your Puppy reaches 8 weeks of age & is Vet checked & deemed Travel Ready.

If you’re like us, you LOVE dogs and appreciate how every puppy has its own distinctive personality and destiny. Much like people, they’re affected by nature and nurture; our goal is to give each puppy the greatest opportunity at having a long, happy, and healthy life – one that is filled with adventure, love, and purpose, and of course belly rubs! It would be our pleasure to make your dream of owning an Australian Shepherd puppy come true.
Waitlist process and timelines
We are very fortunate to keep a consistently long waitlist. In most cases, you can expect to wait 2-6 months for a puppy from us, unless we have puppies available. Expect to wait on the longer side for a Merle (2-6 months) and the shorter side for a Tri (0-3 months).
In a nutshell, there are 5 steps:

Secure your spot by paying the $400 REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT after approval or pay immediately to hold the next available spot while application is in review. IF APP IS DENIED, we will refund you immediately.
JOIN THE WAITLIST for your turn to pickup a Puppy whenever you are ready & enjoy early access to the WAITING ROOM & the TAYLOR WOOF PACK.
Once you see the Puppy for you, reserve an AVAILABLE PUPPY & your Deposit will be applied to the balance & becomes non-refundable once we will sign PUPPY CONTRACT
then the best part….. schedule & get ready for GOTCHA DAY in South Hill, VA once your Puppy is ready, usually right at 8 weeks of age.

1. APPLY so we can gauge your interest, determine what you’re looking for in your Aussie, & make sure our program is a good fit for you! We typically reply within 24 hours with either your approval or refusal. Remember, sending an inquiry does not guarantee that you will be approved or commit you to anything just yet. It’s only the first step to initiate a conversation with us. We want to make sure our program is a good fit for your family and that we can do a great job getting you the right dog. We reserve the right to deny anyone at any time if we feel they’re not the right fit for one of our puppies.
2. PAY REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT: Deposit is REFUNDABLE until you choose your PUPPY, so feel free to send that in as soon you are ready. Because everyone in our program picks based on when they placed their deposit, families often join the WAITLIST as soon as they are committed to wanting a puppy from our program, no matter how far off in the future that may be. As other people choose their puppies, you will rise to the top of the pick order for when you are ready. Dreamers can become Seekers at any time. So, if your situation changes, edit your PICK or PASS survey or you reach out to me.
Disclaimer: All puppies are considered available until payment has been received. If you’re hoping to reserve a puppy that’s currently listed as available, it’s always possible that someone else may be inquiring about the same pup. Please keep in mind that we do not hold puppies, therefore you should be ready to move forward & pay the deposit upon approval. You are more than welcome to prepay your deposit to HOLD YOUR PLACE IN LINE, as we will not accept your payment unless we think you would be a good fit for a TAYLOR AUSSIE!!! 😁
3. THE WAITLIST & THE WAIT: (skip to #4 if seeking AVAILABLE PUPPY) Yay!!! You’ve paid the $400 deposit & are on the WAITLIST!! By placing your deposit now, you’ve secured the earliest possible date and spot in line for whenever you are ready to actually pick and bring your adorable puppy home. You ALWAYS have control to change your choices AT ANY TIME.
but now the hardest part of the whole process…. THE WAIT, but we promise our pups are worth it! We often get asked, “How long is the wait?” Because we are at Mother Nature’s mercy, we cannot control things like heat cycles, pregnancies, numbers of pups born, coat & eye colors. These factors all play a part in which families will be interested in any given litter. Keep in mind that each family has an idea of what they’re looking for in their future companion, just as you do. For that reason, our waitlist is ever changing. We offer each family the flexibility to remain on the waitlist for as long as they need to find their perfect puppy. Nobody is locked into a specific litter or their application puppy preferences. Families that are ahead of you on rank may pass on a current litter and choose to wait for a future litter.

We organize the WAITLIST into 2 categories:
😍SEEKERs are usually looking for Pup ASAP, usually within the next 6 months, & they want (& agree) to participate in each litter’s 🐶PICK/PASS❌ until finding their Pup.
🤔DREAMERs are looking to bring home a Pup at some point, but not sure when they’ll be ready, but they want to start climbing to the top of the WAITLIST. 🤔DREAMERs ARE AUTO-PASSED EACH LITTER UNTIL CHANGING TO A 😍SEEKER, so make sure to NOTIFY US AHEAD OF TIME so you’re not overlooked once you are ready!!!
ONCE EACH LITTER IS BORN (ON DAY 1 OR 2), each 😍SEEKER on the WAITLIST will be invited to see the puppies & to submit their 🐶PICK/PASS✖️ to let us know which Puppies they would accept, in the order of their preference, or if they’re still waiting for a future litter. They’ll receive access to each litter’s medical records so you can track their growth, ENS & ESI progress, pup-dates, vet visits, & photo albums too! We’ll post puppy profiles & photo albums to our website as well! We hope to send updated videos on DAY 7 & again on DAY 13.
🐶PICK/PASS✖️ ENDS ONCE EACH LITTER IS 2 WEEKS OLD (DAY 14). We will start at the top of the WAITLIST & work our way down IN ORDER OF DEPOSIT DATE to see who submitted their choices by deadline & what Puppies they would accept. THEY WILL GET THEIR 1ST CHOICE, that Puppy will be RESERVED, & they will be removed from the WAITLIST, sign a CONTRACT, & schedule their GOTCHA DAY!!
Then, we look for the next person on the waitlist who sent their choices. If their 1st Puppy Pick is still available, they will get their First Pick too or if not, they would be matched to their 2nd Pick or could even choose to PASS instead. If PICK#1 makes their selection early, we will remove that Pup’s availability & notify the new PICK#1 ASAP!!
We understand how exciting it is to welcome a new puppy into your life, and we want to assure you that if you don’t get matched with any of the pup(s) you were hoping for from this litter, or if we didn’t receive your choices by the deadline, you will remain on our WAITLIST for future litters. We truly appreciate your patience and enthusiasm! Typically, you can expect a wait of about 2-6 months for a puppy from us. However, if you have your heart set on a Merle, please know that the wait might be a bit longer, around 3-6 months. On the other hand, if a Tri is what you’re looking for, you could be welcoming your new furry friend in as little as 0-3 months.
We completely understand that waiting can be the toughest part of this journey, and we want you to know that our pups are absolutely worth it! As we navigate the natural rhythms of Mother Nature, there are certain things we simply can’t control, like heat cycles, pregnancies, the number of adorable pups born, or the unique coat and eye colors they may have. These factors play a big role in which families are drawn to each litter.
Just like you, every family has their own vision of the perfect companion. That’s why our waitlist is always evolving. We want to offer you the flexibility to stay on the waitlist for as long as it takes to find your ideal puppy. You won’t be locked into a specific litter or set preferences for your future furry friend. It’s all about finding the right match for you! Remember, families ahead of you might decide to pass on a current litter and wait for a future one, and that’s perfectly okay. 4. PICK PUPPY!!: Once you choose your puppy, we’ll confirm availability & send a contract to review & sign. The contract has what you can expect from us as your Breeder & what we expect from you as a Buyer, as well as the next steps to get ready, including how to activate the complimentary puppy insurance, and our industry-leading Wellness Warranty which includes 100% Reimbursement or Replacement should the unexpected happen.
We want you to be confident that your puppy is healthy & will be with you for years to come. After researching, we found most Breeder’s standards & contracts don’t convey the confidence we have in our program & the puppies we produce. Once your puppy is home, you will quickly fall in love and it is unrealistic to require that you surrender the puppy to protect your investment. We will NEVER do that. If your puppy is covered under the Wellness Warranty, we will reimburse you for any necessary medical care or training programs for up to 100% of the puppy’s sales price or you could still choose to return the puppy for a replacement.
How does the refundable deposit work?
PUPPY DEPOSITS ARE $400.00 should you wish to JOIN THE WAITLIST or RESERVE AVAILABLE PUP. Deposits are deducted from the Total Price of the puppy you choose & becomes non-refundable at the time. Taylor Aussies prices pups very fairly for our area & especially well considering all of the testing & time we devote to each litter. Our tri-colored pups are priced starting from $1600.00 & our Merle pups are starting at $2200.00. FINAL PAYMENTs are due on “Gotcha” Day. (see “Payments“).
PREPAYING IMMEDIATELY HOLDS THE NEXT SPOT ON THE WAITLIST while we review your application & give you access to our Owners-Only
The date you pay the deposit determines your position in line. Everyone joins the END OF THE WAITLIST, no exceptions. Your position will advance as other’s choose pups.
If the puppy you chose is UNAVAILABLE, you will immediately be added to the end of the WAITLIST for another available or future pup, but you may request a Refund.
Why is a deposit required to hold a puppy?
Getting a new puppy is a big commitment – financially and emotionally. It is not something you should do on the fly, and you should not commit to a puppy until you have done all your research.
We are serious breeders, and I only want to work with serious buyers who can make the commitment to us, our program, and one of our future puppies. Deposits from people who are just “shopping” from different breeders or who are not entirely committed to adopting a puppy from us can significantly increase the number of people on our reservation list. This can give a false estimate for serious buyers about when they can expect to take a puppy, and this can prevent truly committed families from reserving one of our puppies.
Like yours, our time is valuable to us. So, we ask that you please only apply and place a deposit if you are committed to a puppy, and specifically a puppy from our program.
We have a very generous Refund Policy & lots & lots of reviews from people who would be glad to chat with you about us. We want you to be comfortable & confident in your decision to purchase a TAYLOR AUSSIES.
What payment methods are accepted?
DEPOSITS. We offer a variety of digital payment (Venmo,Zelle,Cashapp, apple pay, Chime, E transfer, wire transfer)methods for you to choose from.
FINAL PAYMENT. is due during “Gotcha” day but will keep you updated should in case any changes & your balance must be PAID IN FULL. You may make payments towards your balance any time you’d like. (see “Refund Policy”) but we accept CARDS also. WE DO NOT ACCEPT CHECKS, MONEY ORDERS, or any alternate forms of payment. Receipts will be provided via email.
